Anti-Darwinists have a tendency to take a hyper-critical look at the theory of evolution. They find anomalies in nature they claim can’t be explained, and they let no gap in the evidence go overlooked, while congratulating themselves on their superior logic. They use plausible examples (that have either been refuted long ago, or turn out to be just plain mistaken), and the non-scientific layperson thinks it all sounds impressive. But instead of holding this debate on obscure scientific turf, which allows for lots of confusion (just what the hell is a flagellum, anyway?), what if we took a look at their alternative “theory” instead? Funny, but when asked about some of the anomalies, errors, inconsistencies, and illogicalities of their own theory, Anti-Darwinists’ critical thinking skills are suddenly turned off. But we have lots of evidence proving just how ludicrous this theory is. Unfortunately, it’s all cleverly buried in the Bible, where no one ever looks. “Yahweh Flunked Science,” a unique, humorous, 21st century assessment, gets right to the point and reveals what the all-too-human ancient authors of Scripture really said about the world and how it works. For starters (“In the Beginning …”), there are dozens of things the All-Knowing Creator of the Universe is shockingly misinformed about, or doesn’t quite get. Nothing big, just everything He supposedly invented – the earth, the heavens, etc – and even subjects He’s supposedly good at, like morality and justice. True, there are plenty of pretty sentiments expressed in the Good Book. But for each one of those, we get at least four or five that are totally barbaric. It doesn’t seem fair not to count those, too. Think about it – if Darwin’s going to be held accountable for gaps in the fossil record (which have been filled in to an amazing extent in the meantime – just do an internet search on whale evolution if you want a good example), should we really let Yahweh off the hook for things He actually did say? Instead of glossing them over for reasons of political correctness, let’s teach the controversy. It’s all broken down here, all the bizarre, perverted, psychotic things the Bible has to offer, but without the preachers’ guilt trips and spin that keep you from thinking about what you just read. Then you can decide who to believe – the preachers and Anti-Darwinists, or your lyin’ eyes.

My son recommended this book to me after he found it while researching a college paper. At first I wasn't interested but he told me it was hilarious and reassured me that it's not loaded with scientific jargon, but rather only cites the Bible. That sparked my curiosity. I was born and raised Catholic and am a semi-regular churchgoer but never really read the bible for myself. I was pretty shocked to read in the first 20 pages that the Old Testament more or less tells the story of a God who encouraged rape, incest, and murder (although I always thought the Abraham's son story was silly). The punchy jokes of the anonymous author made me laugh out loud a few times, but didn't bring my guard down. The author suggests that, when taken out of context, we can use the Bible to say anything. I thought, well, maybe that's what he or she is doing. So I actually pulled out the old "Good Book" to read some of these "stories" for myself and make my own judgements. It turns out the author is not quite the BS'er I thought. I checked up on what I believed was the most disturbing, the story of Lot and the Angels, and found the author's account to be accurate. God spared Lot because he let the town rape his daughters instead of the Angels, a detail a bit more chilling than the "pillar of salt" part... That's not the God I learned about in school (although the penguins were pretty ruthless) and it certainly isn't the God I pray to. All in all, I'd recommend this book to anyone, laypeople or not, who haven't spent much time with the Bible. Perhaps they won't be so quick to judge next time they encounter a homosexual, nonbeliever, etc. The comedy made me laugh pretty hard but got to be a bit much at times. The informative aspect of the book that left the greatest impression on me, especially because of the growing debate on creationism in schools. I am glad I bought this obscure, little book and have since recommended it to friends and colleagues.Product details

This short tome presents all the rational reasons why the God of the three currently active totalitarian religions cannot exist as defined (contradictions and all) with the holy books of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This is one of Anonymous' (if that's her real name) better efforts. The book mixes a fair bit of incisive humor with a point by point deconstruction of what is arguably the most destructive sets of myths ever to befall humanity.
