Tick tock
The time for my release is approaching
But my hopes of making it out of here as a free woman are diminishing with every passing second.
Men can do beautiful things in the name of God or love- I've seen it.
But they can do evil things for the same reasons too.
And those who suffer not from love, but obsession? They're capable of the most heinous acts.
And all a girl, who is the source for both conditions- love and obsession alike- is pray that someone- anyone- is watching over her.
That someone is guiding them.
That one person in this world will put her needs before their own.
I'm not hopeful that someone is watching over me.
But I am praying.
Every day.

In Book #2 in the True Eden Chronicles, sixteen year-old Larkin Whittaker has a choice to make, a risk to take, a heart to give away- and the repercussions of all of the above to live with after. She knows that if she stays focused and untouchable, that she could end up living the life that she's dreamt of, since Kohl Barachiel first introduced her to romance novels…
But she also knows that there's something, some force inside Eden or within herself, that is blackening the Barachiel men's pristine souls, and forcing them to each tighten their grip on hers.

One of them is destined to crush her, but which one? The one who holds her hand, her heart- or her contract? Only time, and strength of character, will tell.
In fact, the only thing that she does know for sure, is that only a miracle will be able to extricate her from paradise unharmed now.

Oh boy. What a ride this sequel was. I can honestly say I’ve felt a rainbow of emotions from immense anticipation and swooning to jaw-dropping surprise and red hot anger. So here’s to S.K. Munt bringing a twisty plot without hesitation or kid gloves.

Larkin is nearly eighteen by the time The Forbidden Fruit plays out, and we get to see all of the Barachiel princes at their finest and their very most selfish. I’d venture to say that it’s probably very realistic that royals with the tradition of housing bedside companions would eventually get a skewed view of their positions and entitlements.

The romance between Larkin and Kohl in this one is explosive and at times achingly sweet. I loved every bit of it. Kohl is hands down my favorite, and I don’t mind saying that. Although, Karol may be something else, he starts to bring a boldness and entertainment to all of his chapters that made me start to love him—or at least love to hate him! He is proof that a character doesn’t have to stick to the straight and narrow to be enjoyable. I was thoroughly entertained by the twists he brought to this story, and if nothing else, Karol is a damn strong character who holds his own.

You think you know how this story ends? Ha. Nope. Try again. I went from cheering and squealing to WTF?! in the last ten percent of the book. I just had no clue what was coming. This is a series that takes the lightness and fun of something like The Selection and plunges it down into the melancholy and jagged reality of something like Memoirs of a Geisha. That is not a slight, because Memoirs of a Geisha is one of my most beloved books.

When Larkin takes a good long look in the mirror at the end of The Forbidden Fruit, she just might find that there is no fluffy, pearlescent fairy tale waiting for someone who was always intended to be sold as property—no matter how beautiful and luxurious her cage might be.

I don’t know if Larkin will get the opportunity to cut the tethers that keep her from truly being the master of her destiny and her heart, but I hope so. At the very least, I’m rooting for one Barachiel to smash the archaic traditions of his family to smithereens and prove that he’s the one deserving of his noble blood.

Only S.K. Munt knows how this roller coaster will end. However the romantic element concludes, this reader has no problem admitting that she’s fed up with how female Nephilim have suffered for male whims in this apocalyptic world. I just might delight in seeing Satan have the last laugh. Larkin is a sweet character to keep trying to find the best in her prison and her royal wardens, but I’m ready for Satan to teach her how to pry the bars apart and let loose some vengeance and hell fire.

The Forbidden Fruit The Eden Chronicles #2 eBook SK Munt Donella Brown Howard Parsons Emm Cole Reviews

I love this series and can't wait for book three!
Great dystopian fantasy! Loved the characters and the plot and mythology were very original. Really excited for the next book. I hope all of the things that I think were foreshadowed actually happen.
I love SK Munts stories. You will not be disappointed.
If you love tangled love stories, you'll love this series. If you love dystopian love stories like myself, you'll love this series even more.
This book is almost like a train wreck. I just couldn’t look away. Twists and turns at every point. Who knows where this author is going? Not me for sure! I will continue with this series.
Part 2 of the Eden Chronicles. This is a fast paced, action packed episode. I loved every minute of it and cannot wait to get book 3 and 4
I COULD NOT DEVOUR “The Forbidden Fruit” FAST ENOUGH!
The Eden Chronicles #2 by S.K Munt

Have you ever picked up a book and fell right into the world the author was creating for your enjoyment? So engrossed with each character that you could not bring yourself to put the book down. You strain your eyes while not knowing if it’s the strain of not being able to read fast enough… or from the myriad of different emotions you’re feeling but still unable to stop yourself from turning the page? Well this is exactly how I felt while reading The Forbidden Fruit, Book #2 of The Eden Chronicles.

SK Munt has the ability to make you want to forget EVERYTHING around you but the world she is creating. You'll fall in love (or hate) with every character and never be disappointed. The twist & turns, up & downs will drive you crazy but you won't want to put the book down! My only disappointment is having to wait for the next book in this series.

As a side note to the fan of Ms. Munt's writing I've become. As soon as I finished this book, I immediately looked for book #3. However, when I could not find book #3… I went into a slight panic and contacted SK Munt directly via the internet (I’m thankful for modern technology and the authors/artist who are quick to reply). My mother laughs and informs me, "Time sure has changed. It must be nice to be able to contact the writers and publishers so easy. In my day we had to wait and hope they wrote another book. We didn't have an immediate response." Yep, sad to wait but glad to know another installment to this series is forthcoming. In the meantime I'll just have to check her other series.
